ACTRESS GABRIELLA GIARDINA, FROM RAGUSA TO HOLLYWOOD - "In theater, as well as in life: you can succeed only if you believe"
“The first rule to follow to strive to success is to train and never give up nor stop refining your skills. Two things are essential to achieve the success in life: to follow your passions and always seek excellence in what you do.”
Being 25 years old and having a dream big as the world. Gabriella Giardina, actress and model from Ragusa, already star of Bollywood, set out to conquest Hollywood playing the cards of spontaneity and freshness. But also the skill, which, in her case, is going steady with determination and passion.
She got trained professionally abroad, at Whistling Woods International in Mumbai and now she is at the Michelle Danner Acting School in Los Angeles, getting in touch with the international industry.
Do you ever consider returning to Italy?
“When I think about my future I can simply imagine myself as an actress. What is important is to work on good projects, regardless of the location; if it's a good job I am always ready to move anywhere in the world, as indeed I have been doing now for almost a decade, following my family at first, then to perfect my own skills, and now for professional reasons.”
As an actress she worked with different production companies. One of the movies by TSeries production brought her in South Africa and Sikkim, at the bottom of Himalayas. What work has given her greater satisfaction?
“Every role is important because everyone has made me grow professionally. However I would say that I found the leading role of Katie in Suitcase quite a challenge because it told the story of a young woman who is practically to live alone despite having a companion, because he was distracted by his friends and by alcohol. The intriguing challenge was that there was more of recited expression. This is the most important challenge for an artist, being able only through the eyes, or a look, to tell a story.”
After the experience of Grease, there was Cinema 100, and now there is A Night at The Black Cat Cabaret in Los Angeles, one more musical.
Grease, it was my first experience of this genre and it was fun. With the attitude of those who have chosen to make the art of the entertainment as a profession, I played Cinema 100, a Wistling Woods International Production, a musical tribute to the fascinating hundred years journey of Indian cinema, through acting, dancing and singing, to celebrate 100 years of Bollywood. Currently I play Frida in A Night at The Black Cat Cabaret, a cabaret set in Paris on 1943 where soldiers, smugglers, and society’s elite all try to escape the war by dancing and drinking at the Black Cat Cabaret. A musical acclaimed by critics.
Which role do you consider to fit most in?
A fun part of this job is to be able to interpret many roles, and I feel comfortable in both drama and comedy roles.
What guides you in your path?
The first rule to follow if you strive to success is to follow your own inclinations, prepare for the best and never give up nor stop refining your skills. I think that today there is no "easy" professions and certainly those linked to the world of arts are among the least easy. It is a very competitive environment and therefore it is crucial to have a good artistic preparation and a great determination. Two things are essential to achieve the success in life: to follow your passions and always seek excellence in what you do.”
